Back to the expert's page

Visual Perception is defined as the ability to make sense of information taken in through the eyes. It is the ability to recall, remember, discriminate and make sense of what we see around us. It is how what we see is interpreted or processed by the brain. Difficulties surrounding this can have an effect on a childs’ ability to succeed in some activities. Signs that a child may be struggling with visual perception can present itself in different ways.

For example, difficulty with sequencing can affect tasks such as dressing or doing times tables. Difficulty recalling information given to your child can affect reading, writing or drawing. Activities such as the ones in the download are beneficial to help with visual perception.
