We’re Farah and Sarah, Co-Founders of HANX, a sexual and intimate wellness startup tackling stigma. In 2017, after an embarrassing and frustrating experience buying condoms, we quit our day jobs to revolutionise contraception as we know it. We’re determined to challenge the status quo and misconceptions around sex and vaginal health issues – but the HANX life’s not just about condoms and pessaries. We’re here to tackle the taboos, stereotypes and myths that make people less likely to access help or improve their sexual and intimate health.

Drawing on our Co-Founder Dr Sarah Welsh’s experience in NHS obstetrics and gynaecology, we’ve created seriously good sexual wellness essentials without the nasties. No numbing chemicals, no irritation-causing glycerin, no macho packaging.

HANX is designed with what women really need in mind, from first time to first child and beyond. We know that lots of us experience vaginal dryness after giving birth, but the leading lubes on the market tend to be funky cherry flavoured and full of sugar (hello, yeast infections!). Our signature Lubricant is developed with a water, rather than oil base, so it’s super-gentle with no flavourings. It’s also pH-balanced to be as close to the real thing as possible and is both sex toy and condom friendly. We don’t like to boast, but Trinny Woodall is a fan, The Times’ columnist Suzi Godson named it her favourite and Vanity Fair included it in the best lotions and potions for mums-to-be.

As for condoms? We’ve got you. Our condoms come in two sizes: Standard and Large and are crafted from natural latex. We don’t use casein, an animal by product, so we’re proudly certified by the Vegan Society. Bonus: unlike many of the 10 billion condoms manufactured each year, they’re completely biodegradable.
