When I discovered in my teens that there was actually a job where I could be with babies all day, that’s where my journey to become a Health Visitor began. To this day, I love babies and feel so privileged to be able to support and guide new parents on all aspects of their parenting and child development.
My approach has always been non-judgmental and accepting of how parents choose to parent their children.  I truly believe if a baby is well loved this will conquer all. We all have a stumble along the way but where there is love there is a desire to do the very best you can for your little ones. My job is to advise you of the most up-to-date, evidenced-based information so that you are able to make informed decisions that best suit your child and family.
I started Better Start Baby Club after the NHS was no-longer providing a service that I felt comfortable offering. I was beginning to feel embarrassed of my profession, particularly when I read forums talking about how ‘hopeless’ and ‘uncaring’ people were finding their Health visitor. I knew the Health Visitors weren’t uncaring but with the little resources and time we were given we just weren’t able to meet the needs of our patients. I wanted to make sure people felt cushioned by the support of a Health Visitor just as they did when I started in my role over 12 years ago.
Better Start Baby Club enables me to provide the very best care that you and your little ones deserve.
I have 2 children of my own (Sophie and Freddie) who are now at an age when I can really invest in the new parents that need me. My husband is a vet (Dr Nick Bell) and specialises in the welfare of dairy cows, we joke that we have the same job just a different species lol!
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like evidenced-based support and guidance with any aspect of parenting, maternal mood or child development. I can do zoom, face-to-face and phone calls at a time that is convenient to you.
I’m here for you.
Warmest Wishes
