This workshop will provide attendees with a thorough understanding of Education Health Care Plans, how to successfully apply for one, how to ensure your child receives the highest funding level and that your child's school is putting the plan into place correctly. We will also share tips and tricks to get the best out of your child’s EHCP and to make the process of securing one as hassle-free as possible.
Workshop outline:
- 45 minute talk on EHCPs with activities
- Q&A session led by The SEN Expert
- Networking opportunity - attendees are encouraged to share their experiences with one another and form a working group.
About:
This workshop will be delivered by The SEN Expert, which was set up by Claire Walley in 2020 following a successful career spanning 12 years in school improvement, special educational needs, safeguarding and the arts.
Claire has worked as a Deputy Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher, Consultant and SENCo in both state and private schools in inner-city London, the South-West, the Midlands and the USA. Claire has a First-Class Honours Degree in Fine Art, hence her creative approach to SEN.
She has also secured a PGCE in Art and Design, the NPQSL (National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership) and the Inclusive Leadership Award.
Claire secured Gold Flagship status from the Inclusion Quality Mark at her last school.
Claire was awarded NASENCo Level 7 (The National Award for SEN Co-ordination) from Exeter University.
Claire has ensured good outcomes for the young people and schools she has worked with throughout her career.
